The Axis Unseen gets physical PS5 edition this summer

The Axis Unseen is getting a physical PlayStation 5 release this summer, giving collectors a boxed version of the heavy-metal horror hunting game. Developed by former Bethesda developer Nate Purkeypile, the game sends players into a mysterious open world filled with creatures from folklore. The pitch is unusual: hunt monsters, track footprints and blood trails, stay downwind so creatures do not smell you, steal enhanced senses from your prey and use powerful arrows against increasingly dangerous targets. The physical edition announced by Tesura Games should appeal to players who prefer owning horror and indie oddities on disc, especially at a time when digital ownership is being debated constantly. The Axis Unseen also stands out because it is not a typical jump-scare horror game. It is more about hunting, dread, sound, atmosphere and the feeling that the wilderness is watching you. A physical PS5 edition will not turn it into a mainstream blockbuster, but it does give the game a longer collector-facing life after its digital release.
