Subnautica 2 enters Early Access today on PC, Xbox and Game Pass
Subnautica 2 finally enters Early Access today, giving players the first playable version of Unknown Worlds’ long-awaited underwater survival sequel. The game launches on PC and Xbox Series X/S at 08:00 PDT / 15:00 UTC, with day-one availability through Game Pass. The Early Access price is $29.99, and Unknown Worlds says players only need to buy once during Early Access to receive updates, additions and hotfixes up to 1.0 and beyond. The sequel keeps the core loop of exploration, crafting, scanning, base-building and terrifying ocean discovery, but adds online co-op for up to four players. That changes the tone significantly: Subnautica has always been famous for loneliness, silence and sudden panic. Co-op could make the world more social, but the real test is whether the sequel can still make the ocean feel dangerous when friends are beside you. Early Access is expected to grow over time, so today is the beginning rather than the final verdict.
