Besmirch enters Early Access with survival horror farming
Besmirch enters Early Access today on Steam, and its genre mix is exactly the kind of strange indie pitch that can cut through a crowded release week. Developed by Gangru Games and published by 2 Left Thumbs, Besmirch is a farming sim, RPG and survival-horror hybrid about a starving town trapped under the control of a corrupt Baron. By day, players work as a new farmhand, tending crops, helping townsfolk and trying to keep the community fed. By night, unholy terrors threaten whatever fragile progress has been made. That contrast is the hook. Farming sims often use routine as comfort, but Besmirch appears to twist routine into pressure: every crop matters because people are hungry, and every night can undo your work. The game has already built some Steam demo momentum, which helps because Early Access projects need trust before they ask players to invest. The big question is whether the farming, town relationships and horror systems reinforce each other instead of feeling like three separate games stitched together. If they connect well, Besmirch could become a standout horror-cozy oddity.
