Outbound launches today on Xbox, PC and Game Pass

Outbound launches today, giving Game Pass subscribers one of May’s cozier day-one releases. Developed by Square Glade Games, the game puts players behind the wheel of a customizable electric camper van, then sends them across a colorful open world built around exploration, crafting, sustainable energy and mobile-base living. Xbox Wire highlights landmarks including a fire lookout, a lighthouse and Paws & Whiskers Lodge, where players can adopt a dog companion for the journey. The game also supports co-op, which should make the road-trip fantasy more social. Outbound originally moved its Xbox and PC release forward to avoid Subnautica 2’s May 14 Early Access wave, and that decision now gives it a cleaner moment in the spotlight. For players, the appeal is clear: less brutal survival, more cozy self-sufficient van life. Build workstations, gather solar, wind and water power, decorate your moving home, grow crops and wander at your own pace. The PS5, Switch and Switch 2 versions are still planned for May 14.
