Dune: Awakening Lands on PS5 and Xbox With Single-Player Mode and a Much Bigger Arrakis

Funcom has finally opened the sands of Arrakis to PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S players, with Dune: Awakening launching on consoles today after its original PC debut. The console release is more than a straightforward port. It arrives alongside a substantial update that lets players experience the complete game entirely in single-player, complete with scalable difficulty and extensive gameplay customisation. The update also completes the cinematic Book One storyline, meaning newcomers can now play that narrative from beginning to end without waiting for another chapter to land. Multiplayer remains firmly part of the package, but Funcom has made PvP optional throughout the experience, including the Deep Desert. Other improvements accumulated since the original PC launch include rebuilt late-game progression, vehicle and base backup tools, expanded locations, additional story content and numerous quality-of-life changes. Xbox players get another bonus: Dune: Awakening joins Xbox Game Pass today and supports Xbox Play Anywhere between Xbox and the Microsoft Store PC version. The new Filmic Archive DLC also arrives across platforms, bringing cosmetic designs inspired by the recent Dune films. In short, this is less 'console port' and more 'Dune: Awakening Definitive-ish Edition, now with significantly fewer reasons to fear other humans.'
