Dune: Awakening gets a September 22 PS5 launch date

Dune: Awakening is coming to PS5 on September 22, and the State of Play pitch was clearly aimed at players who like survival games but prefer their thirst meters with giant sandworms attached. This version includes a new single-player mode, expanded cinematic story content and improvements designed to make Arrakis more approachable on console. That matters because Dune is a perfect survival setting: water is precious, politics are poisonous and the planet itself hates casual tourism. The challenge is turning all that pressure into good game rhythm instead of endless sand-flavored chores. If Funcom can make exploration, faction ambition and survival systems click on PS5, Dune: Awakening could find a bigger audience beyond the early PC crowd.
