Forza Horizon 6 reviews go live ahead of Premium Edition early access
Forza Horizon 6 reviews are now live, and the early critical picture looks very strong for Playground Games’ long-requested trip to Japan. The racer launches widely on May 19 for Xbox Series X/S and PC, while Premium Edition players start on May 15. Reviews highlight the fictionalized Japan map as the star: neon city streets, mountain roads, countryside routes and festival spectacle all giving the series a fresh sense of place. The game includes more than 550 cars at launch and continues the Horizon tradition of letting players bounce between serious racing, exploration, stunts, collecting and absurd open-world nonsense. That matters because Forza Horizon 5 was commercially huge, but many fans felt the formula needed a stronger setting and renewed identity. Japan has been the dream location for years, and the early verdict suggests Playground understood the pressure. The game also arrives day one on Game Pass, making it one of Xbox’s biggest 2026 releases before the full summer slate begins.
