Ira announced for Nintendo Switch 2
Nicalis has announced Ira for Nintendo Switch 2, with a digital launch planned for this summer. The game is described as an action roguelike shoot ’em up with procedurally generated levels. Players control a young girl searching through a city for fragments of an artifact that can restore peace. That is a simple premise, but the genre combination gives it room to be more than a basic shooter. Roguelike structure can make every run feel different, while artifact fragments give the campaign a clear sense of progression. For Switch 2, Ira adds another smaller action title to the digital library, which matters because early console libraries need more than huge AAA ports and Nintendo first-party names. Nicalis has long been associated with indie and arcade-leaning releases, so the match makes sense. The main question is how distinctive Ira feels in motion. Procedural levels and shoot ’em up action can blur together quickly unless the weapons, enemies and movement have strong personality. We should see more before summer.
