Nintendo Switch Online adds five more Virtual Boy games

Nintendo has added another five Virtual Boy games to Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack, meaning a surprisingly large chunk of the system’s library is now available through the service. The new additions are V-Tetris, Jack Bros., Space Invaders Virtual Collection, Virtual Bowling and Vertical Force. Players need the latest update for the Virtual Boy – Nintendo Classics app and an active Expansion Pack subscription to access them. This is a strange but valuable preservation move. The Virtual Boy is remembered more as a hardware failure than a beloved platform, but that is exactly why modern access matters. Most players never had a realistic way to try these games, and original hardware is awkward, expensive and physically uncomfortable for many. By bringing more of the catalog to Switch Online, Nintendo is turning one of its oddest historical footnotes into something people can actually study, laugh at and maybe even enjoy. Jack Bros. in particular remains one of the more sought-after Virtual Boy curiosities.
