Outbound completes its multi-platform launch on PS5, Switch and Switch 2
Outbound’s road trip has now gone global. Square Glade Games’ cozy camper-van survival adventure launched earlier this week on Xbox, PC and Game Pass, and today it arrives on PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2. The game’s premise remains one of May’s most immediately charming hooks: start with an empty electric camper van, then turn it into a mobile home powered by wind, sunlight and water while exploring a near-utopian world. Players can craft, decorate, cook, grow crops, adopt a pet companion and travel solo or with friends. The game has already had a slightly bumpy launch conversation after the developer apologized for asking a player to remove a negative Steam review, but the core concept still has strong cozy appeal. For console players, the important test is performance and interface comfort. A game about slow travel and self-sufficient van life should feel relaxed, not fiddly. If the ports are clean, Outbound could become a nice comfort-game option across platforms.
