RoadOut launches with post-apocalyptic driving and dungeon combat

RoadOut launches today on PC and consoles, and it has one of the stranger genre combinations of the week. Developed by Rastrolabs and published by DANGEN Entertainment, the game blends post-apocalyptic action RPG structure, top-down racing mechanics and rotatable dungeon exploration. Players control Claire, a mercenary trying to survive in The Dead Zone by taking sabotage, delivery and murder contracts. The pitch is part road-warrior fantasy, part dungeon crawler and part vehicular chaos. That could be a strong hook if the driving and combat systems support each other rather than feeling like separate minigames. The Steam page lists action, adventure, indie and RPG tags, with 68 achievements and a focus on contracts, rival gangs and racing for glory. For players tired of standard post-apocalyptic survival loops, RoadOut at least looks willing to get weird with format. The key question is whether the switching between driving, dungeon navigation and RPG progression feels smooth. If it does, this could become a neat indie cult pick.
