Star Fox pre-orders go live as price, box art and 14.8GB file size are revealed

Nintendo has followed up the Star Fox reveal with the practical details players need before launch. Pre-orders are now live, the eShop version is listed at $49.99 / £41.99, and the physical version is expected to cost around $60 or regional equivalent. The estimated digital file size is 14.8GB, which is relatively modest compared with some of the larger Switch 2 third-party downloads. Nintendo Life also showed the official box art, which puts Fox and the crew against a bright orange backdrop. For players, the biggest question is value. Star Fox 64 is beloved but short, so Nintendo will need the new cinematics, co-op options, multiplayer and challenge structure to make this feel worth the price. For collectors, the physical version may be attractive, especially because early Switch 2 releases are already becoming part of the system’s identity. For everyone else, the file size makes digital pre-loading painless. The bigger story remains that Star Fox is back on Nintendo hardware in 2026.
