Horizon Hunters Gathering second closed playtest dated for May 22 to May 25

Horizon Hunters Gathering is preparing for another closed playtest, and this one gives players a clearer sense of how the multiplayer Horizon spin-off is evolving. The second closed test will run from May 22 to May 25 on PS5 and PC, with registration handled through the PlayStation Beta Program. The new test adds two playable Hunters, a playable Episode, Hard and Merciless difficulty settings, Breakers’ Bounty activities and solo-friendly support through NPC Hunters. That last point matters because multiplayer spin-offs can lose players quickly if solo or small-group progression feels weak. For Horizon fans, the bigger question is whether Hunters Gathering can translate the series’ machine combat into a repeatable online structure without losing the tactical feeling that made the main games work. More hunters, higher difficulty and bounty-style activities suggest the developers are pushing toward a mission-driven action format. This playtest should help determine whether the project feels like a real Horizon extension or just another online experiment with a famous name attached.
