LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight hands-on shows Arkham-style combat with classic comic remixing

LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight is starting to look like a surprisingly ambitious Batman package rather than just another lighthearted licensed game. PlayStation Blog’s hands-on report describes a title that mixes decades of Batman stories, from Year One and The Long Halloween to The Dark Knight Returns and Knightfall, into a LEGO-style remix. The gameplay also leans harder into Batman fantasy than older LEGO titles, with Arkham-inspired combat, counters, gadgets and stealth-friendly encounters. Players can explore Gotham, glide from rooftops, drive the Batmobile and swap between characters such as Robin, Nightwing, Batgirl, Jim Gordon and Catwoman. The game launches on May 22 and supports single-player or two-player local co-op. For gamers, the key appeal is that this could work for both younger LEGO players and older Batman fans who want a broad playable celebration of the character. If the combat and open-world structure hold up, this may be one of the most accessible Batman games in years.
