Tomodachi Life holds the top spot on the Nintendo Switch eShop chart again
Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream continues to dominate the Nintendo Switch eShop chart. Nintendo Everything’s May 16 chart places it at number one again, ahead of Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, Super Mario Galaxy + Super Mario Galaxy 2 and Pokémon FireRed. That is a strong run for Nintendo’s social life-sim revival and another reminder that weird social sandboxes can compete with the company’s biggest evergreen action and racing titles. The download-only list also has an interesting new movement, with Quartet appearing inside the top ten. That matters because eShop visibility is brutal for smaller games, and any top-ten placement can help push wishlists, screenshots, word of mouth and late sales. For players, the chart says a lot about the Switch audience in 2026: nostalgia remains powerful, Nintendo’s evergreen catalog still sells, and cozy or personality-driven games have serious staying power. Tomodachi Life is not simply a novelty comeback. It is behaving like a real platform seller in software form.
