The Adventures of Elliot demo is out now with save transfer
Square Enix has released a free demo for The Adventures of Elliot: The Millennium Tales ahead of its June 18 launch. The demo is available on PC, PS5, Xbox Series X/S and Nintendo Switch 2, and includes the first chapter with save data transfer to the full game.
Players can follow the main quest, explore off the beaten path, find weapons and Magicite, and unlock bonuses for the final release, though some areas and content are restricted compared with the full version. The Adventures of Elliot uses Square Enix's HD-2D style, but the structure is closer to a real-time action adventure than a turn-based Octopath-style RPG.
Players use seven weapon types, two equipped at a time, and the story crosses four ages over a thousand years. For players curious about whether the Zelda comparisons hold up, this demo is the best possible test. Square Enix clearly wants people to feel the game before committing, which is smart for a new adventure IP.
