Ghost of Yōtei: Legends will not receive more major planned updates
Ghost of Yōtei: Legends appears to have reached the end of its major content roadmap. Sucker Punch has confirmed that The Raid was the last major planned update for the free online multiplayer mode, completing the story of the Yōtei Six in that branch of the game. The developers also reflected on building the raid as something like “an escape room where people are trying to kill you,” which is honestly a perfect summary of a good co-op endgame encounter. For players, this news is bittersweet. On one hand, Legends now feels like a complete mode rather than an endlessly stretched service. On the other, Ghost of Tsushima’s Legends mode received support for much longer, so some players may be disappointed that Yōtei’s major updates are ending so soon. The practical question is matchmaking. Once big updates stop, co-op modes often lose casual players quickly. Anyone who wants to experience The Raid with a healthy player pool should probably do it sooner rather than later.
