GTA 6 review copies may be replaced by controlled review events
Rockstar may take an unusually strict approach to Grand Theft Auto 6 reviews. A new rumor reported by GamingBolt claims that instead of sending review codes or copies to media outlets, Rockstar could fly journalists to a controlled location and have them play the game under supervision. The goal would be obvious: reduce leak risk for what may be the biggest entertainment launch of the decade. This is not confirmed, but it is believable. GTA 6 has already faced major leaks, and Rockstar has very little need for traditional early review-code distribution to generate awareness. Everyone already knows the game exists. The downside is media transparency. If outlets only play the game in controlled conditions, review timelines and review depth could become more complicated. For players, the most realistic expectation is that GTA 6 will be handled differently from normal releases in almost every way. Between security, spoilers, massive commercial pressure and investor attention, Rockstar’s launch plan will probably be one of the most guarded in modern gaming history.
