Into The Unwell delayed to 2027 and will skip Early Access
Into The Unwell is taking a very different path than originally planned. Coffee Stain Publishing and developer She Was Such A Good Horse have delayed the cooperative roguelite action game from a planned 2026 Early Access release to a full launch in 2027. That is a meaningful shift because it suggests the publisher is increasing investment and giving the team more time to turn the game into a complete product rather than pushing it out as a work-in-progress. The phrase used by Gematsu is that Coffee Stain is upping its investment, which is encouraging in a market where delays often come with anxiety. For players, this could be good news if it means stronger content, better polish and a more confident launch. Early Access can be valuable, but it is not always the right fit. Co-op roguelites need enemy variety, build variety, readable chaos and enough replay structure on day one to keep groups coming back. If the extra time helps Into The Unwell land as a more complete game, the delay may be worth it.
