Lords of the Fallen 2 is no longer published by Epic Games on PC

Lords of the Fallen 2 may now have a much wider PC path than previously expected. CI Games has announced a separation agreement with Epic Games relating to the sequel. The earlier agreement would have given Epic distribution rights for the PC version across the game's entire product life cycle, which many players expected would mean Epic Games Store exclusivity.

With that agreement now ended, the door appears open for Lords of the Fallen 2 to launch on other PC storefronts, potentially including Steam. That is significant because Soulslike action RPGs tend to perform strongly on Steam, where community visibility, wishlists, reviews and long-tail sales all matter.

CI Games' relationship with Epic is not completely severed, as the game still uses Unreal Engine 5 and Epic online services may remain part of the technical stack. The sequel is still planned for PS5, Xbox Series X/S and PC later this year, but it does not have a confirmed release date yet. A Summer Game Fest reveal now feels very possible.
