Nintendo maintenance scheduled ahead of My Nintendo Store rename
Nintendo has released its maintenance schedule for the week, and the most notable item is tied to the upcoming My Nintendo Store rename. The store will be unavailable for one hour on May 18 in North America, which lands as the early hours of May 19 in Europe and the UK. The timing appears to be part of Nintendo preparing to drop the “My” from My Nintendo Store on May 27, turning the official shop into Nintendo Store. Nintendo says nothing else about the service or product offering is changing, so this is more brand cleanup than functional overhaul. Still, it matters because Nintendo’s official store has become a bigger part of hardware, collector’s editions, accessories and merchandise distribution. There is also later maintenance scheduled for Switch 2 and Switch consumable-item purchasing on May 25/26. For players, the practical message is simple: avoid time-sensitive store purchases during the maintenance window.
