Pragmata Takes the UK Physical Chart Crown, Proving New Sci-Fi IP Can Still Sell
Pragmata climbed to number one in the latest UK physical sales chart, pushing Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream down to third place, while Cyberpunk 2077 Ultimate Edition surged into second. For gamers, the Pragmata result is important because it shows a new Capcom IP can fight its way to the top even in a market dominated by familiar brands, Nintendo comfort games, and discounted evergreen releases.
The platform split also tells an interesting story: PS5 led Pragmata’s physical sales heavily, while Switch 2 and Xbox made up smaller shares. That suggests Capcom’s core console audience is still strongly PlayStation-focused for this kind of cinematic action game, at least physically in the UK. The impact is broader than one chart. When new IP performs well, publishers get more confidence to fund risky ideas instead of endlessly recycling sequels and remakes.
