Primal Carnage: Evolution launches on PS4 on May 28
Primal Carnage: Evolution finally has a release date. Circle 5 Publishing will launch the asymmetrical dinosaur-versus-human multiplayer game on PlayStation 4 on May 28, with support for increased resolutions on PS4 Pro and PS5. The game is a remaster of 2015’s Primal Carnage: Extinction, where one team plays human hunters and the other controls dinosaurs. Evolution promises more dinosaurs, more customization options and a larger content package than the older release. The announcement is a little strange because the original game has a PC history, but Evolution is currently positioned for PS4 rather than a simultaneous PC relaunch. It also already has premium currency called Phoenix Points lined up for launch, which will make monetization one of the first things players inspect. The concept still has appeal. There are not enough dinosaur multiplayer games, and the fantasy of stalking human players as a raptor or holding the line against a charging T. rex remains easy to sell. The challenge is whether the remaster feels modern enough in 2026.
