Splitgate developer’s next game reportedly leans hard into Titanfall-style mechs

1047 Games’ next project may be moving deep into Titanfall territory. A report covered by GamingBolt claims the Splitgate developer is working on a movement shooter codenamed Empulse, with giant mechs, wall running, grappling hooks and boost pads. Pre-alpha footage reportedly shown to Insider Gaming included Team Deathmatch and a mech equipped with a Gatling gun, shield and missile launcher. This is still unofficial, and Empulse may not be the final title, but the concept is easy to understand. Splitgate found attention by blending Halo-style arena shooting with portals. After Splitgate 2 and Splitgate: Arena Reloaded struggled to maintain momentum, a faster, heavier sci-fi shooter with Titanfall-style movement could be a smart pivot. The risk is obvious: Titanfall fans have been waiting years for something that properly scratches that itch, and comparisons will be brutal if the game feels like imitation rather than evolution. If 1047 can combine its arena design strengths with satisfying mech combat and movement, Empulse could become a serious comeback opportunity.
