Bancho the Chef was revealed during State of Play, turning Dave the Diver’s sushi master into the star of his own game. That is a smart spin-off because Bancho already had the presence of a man who could silently judge your entire life through knife technique. The new title leans into cooking, personality and that weird mix of warmth and intensity that made Dave the Diver work so well. It is also a nice reminder that not every spin-off needs to be a massive action sequel. Sometimes the strongest move is taking a side character with flavor and giving him a focused, smaller stage. If Bancho the Chef keeps the charm, humor and food obsession intact, it could become a very tasty companion piece to Dave’s underwater chaos.
